I am excited about working with students, faculty and administrators at the University of Iowa. My wife, Dawn, and I just moved here from the Kansas City area. I look forward to exploring with you how the Christian faith brings a meaningful context to all aspects of university life. I look forward to hearing your voices in discussions about the relevance of your worldview to life, scholarship, and service. Some of the most important questions in life are off-limits in the classroom, but they are welcomed at Geneva Campus Ministry. We look forward to getting to know you.”

Dr. Thomas R. Wolthuis is the Director of Geneva Campus Ministry. He has served as a pastor; a church planter; a college professor in theology, youth ministry, and communications; a campus pastor; and a campus administrator. He has lived in Michigan, Texas, North Carolina, Iowa, Zambia, Canada, Lithuania, and Kansas. He has a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Duke University, an M.Div. and Th.M. from Calvin Theological Seminary, and a B.A. in Philosophy from Calvin College .

I am thrilled to have been brought on board with Geneva Campus Ministry to help lead the CORE vocations fellowship program. In my work as an artist, arts educator, and arts administrator, my understanding of and appreciation for our Creator is challenged and deepened on a daily basis as I contemplate, hands-on, the true meaning of the creative act. As beings that bear His image, every single one of us has the opportunity to participate in an ongoing co-creation and shaping of the Kingdom. This is our calling!"

In addition to her work with Geneva, Lauren teaches in the School of Art & Art History at the University of Iowa and is the Visual Arts Coordinator for Project Art at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. This past school year she was the M.C. Ginsberg Artist in Residence for the Iowa City Community School District and she was recently awarded a grant from the Iowa Arts Council to pursue a new collaborative project.

Lauren received her MFA from the University of Maryland and completed her undergraduate studies at the College of Charleston. She lives and works in Iowa City with her husband Steve, who is currently pursuing his MFA in Painting at the University of Iowa.
