Geneva Lecture Series
Since 1976, Geneva has brought over seventy accomplished Christian scholars, writers, artists, and practitioners in a wide variety of fields to speak on campus. In addition to their public lecture for a general audience, many of our speakers offer a specialized seminar in their field of expertise, cosponsored by the University of Iowa department in that field. We also occasionally offer follow-up activities and clusters of events related to our speakers. All lectures are free and open to the public.

Our Programs
C.O.R.E. - Christians On the Road to Excellence
Society tends to put work and faith into two separate categories, but we were not meant to live with faith in just one sphere of our lives. So, with the generous support of the Lilly Foundation we are helping students to learn how they can love God and love others in whatever career path they are called to do. Through conferences, internships, mentoring, and more, we’d like to help students discern their calling, and provide an new way of integrating faith and work.
Geneva Explorations
Geneva Explorations examine the Bible, Christian theology, and life. We study the Bible to understand why it was written, to whom, and what it still means today. We also explore what these scriptures says about God, humans, and their interaction through history and still today. We examine Christian theology and compare it to other ways of viewing the world.
Whether you know very little about the Bible or know much, we think you’ll find these classes interesting. They are led by our Director, Dr. Wolthuis, who has a Ph. D. in Biblical Studies and has taught at the college level in the USA and internationally, for 15 years.
