ABOUT

WHO IS GENEVA?

Geneva Campus Ministry is an approved student organization that has been active at the University of Iowa since 1971. We are a community of students, faculty, and staff who seek to serve Jesus Christ on campus. Geneva is supported by the "Reformed" branch of Protestant Christianity, plus friends from many other denominations.

We believe that God is at work in us and through us for the renewed life of all people and creation through faith, hope, and love. Our vision is to help guide a Christian educational exploration at the University of Iowa, engaging learning and life with the good news of Jesus Christ.

As followers of Christ, we warmly welcome doubters, seekers, the curious, and those of other faiths (or none) to join us. Participate in any or all of our activities... We hope you'll have a great time, and make new friends as you do!

Sarah, class of 2020.

“Geneva has been such a blessing to me throughout my time in college. The lectures have challenged me both intellectually and spiritually, and the small group’s focus on vocation has helped me in discerning God’s callings for my life. It has also provided a great opportunity to build community with fellow Christians on campus, and I really appreciate that it has involved people of all different faith backgrounds and perspectives in meaningful discussions. I’m so thankful for this ministry in Iowa City.”

Some of the most important questions in life are off-limits in the classroom, but they are welcomed at Geneva Campus Ministry. We look forward to getting to know you.”

"I am thrilled to have been brought on board with Geneva Campus Ministry to help lead the CORE fellowship program and undergrad ministry. I was impacted by strong student ministry programs in high school and in college and believe in the vocational call of Geneva's mission. "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."

Matt has a background in youth ministry and has worked previously in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Colorado, He enjoys good food, the outdoors, fishing, and going on hikes.

Matt received his BA in Religious Studies from the University of Northern Iowa. He lives and works in Iowa City with his wife Marissa and their dog, Arya.
