Stephen Evans

2nd year MFA student | majoring in Painting

"The CORE program has helped me to better explore and articulately express how my career practice and my faith inform one another. In meeting one-on-one with a mentor, I have been able to think out loud, lay my interests on the table, and find guidance in my vocation. Spending time with fellow program participants has helped me to meet new people, build relationships, and gain a greater understanding of academics outside of my own at my university. With interests like philosophy and theology that are integrated into my art practice, I feel like I have the support I need to pursue my research, try new things, and ultimately grow as a scholar."

Jaime Stubbs

Freshman | majoring in Communication Studies

"Being accepted as a CORE Fellow for my freshmen year is truly amazing. I will use the funds from the CORE Fellowship to help support a women-empowering program and hopefully help implement an inspiring retreat in the summer. Moreover, I would love to impact lives and being a CORE Fellow will allow me to do just that."

Brigitte Waldier

Senior | majoring in Speech & Hearing Science

This summer, Brigitte will be spending two months in China on a mission trip with a group from her church. She plans to attend graduate school in the fall to continue her studies in Speech & Language Pathology.

"In China, I have two goals. First, I plan to work within the church planting movement by teaching English to college students, becoming friends with them, and inviting them into the church. In addition, I will be volunteering with hundreds of orphans who have developmental disabilities and teaching them about love and the Lord. I cannot wait to see how these two experiences play into my career as a a Speech Language Pathologist. As an SLP, I plan to travel back to East Asia and work with these students who have never before been provided treatment, so I am excited to explore how to do this from a Christ-centered approach."
